For sharing with friends and family our experiences and thoughts while serving through medical ministry in Africa.
May I find His joy even in my sorrow and His life in my death. To God be the glory!

3 years and two children later...
Today is our anniversary of 3 years of marriage! We are so thankful to be together, married and living in peace by God’s grace.
In honor of our anniversary I wanted to post some notes I jotted down while reading a marriage book...
1. Do not have close friendships with women who frequently criticize their husbands.
2. If you are going to speak, be respectful, and honor your husband’s reputation whether he is there or not.
3. Ask your husband if he ever feels diminished or disrespected by you. What did he say?
4. Ask God to help you reinforce your husband’s strengths.
5. Is your husband expecting kindness from you or criticism?
6. Do you see him how God sees him?
7. Forgive and you will be forgiven.
8. We can be women of influence if we choose to first be good listeners and fully understand what our husbands are telling us.
9. Speak carefully in wisdom and encourage your husband.
10. Pray that God helps you keep your words wise and kind
11. Contentment with each other is better than material things.
12. Think of 5 things your husband does regularly and thank him for those things.
13. Do you praise your husband in public? Compliment him when you are around other people
14. Are you expecting human recognition, or is God’s pleasure in you enough?
15. Living in peace often means trusting your husband’s judgement or plans.
