May I find His joy even in my sorrow and His life in my death. To God be the glory!

Abi and Paul’s wedding

I didn't get many photos but I thought I would share the few I have, and we will hopefully see more from Isaac soon.

For those who fear the rainbow

Because of the newer meaning and connotations associated with the rainbow, I think many Christians are afraid of having anything to do with the symbol of a rainbow, rainbow striped clothing or accessories, or anything remotely resembling a rainbow. I will use this short blog post to say that I think this is not a good idea. Just because pagans have attempted to turn holidays like Christmas and Easter into secular holidays doesn’t mean we are obligated to give them up.
If some weird people decided to “change” the meaning of the cross symbol, I’m guessing that some people would simply just abandon the cross, for fear of what people would think of them. Why do that?
What I’m saying is, stop being afraid of the rainbow. If your kid has a rainbow shirt, let them wear it. If someone asks you about it, it’s a great opportunity to explain what the rainbow means. Stop being afraid of the rainbow.
What does the Bible say about rainbows? It’s the sign of a covenant: Genesis 9:13-15 “I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.”
It’s compared to what the radiance of God is like: Ezekiel 1:28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.
It’s wrapped around the Lord’s throne in heaven! Revelation 4:3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne.

6 years

Yesterday was our anniversary. We actually planned a real date, one of very few we’ve had in the last several years. The parents babysat and we had a wonderful time going out and walking on the greenway.
We even climbed up the steep hill for the view. Orcxance picked a bouquet of wildflowers as we went up and gave it to me at the top.
We found another way down following the road and encountered lots of deer, including one who had just had twins. They were so new they could barely walk.
When we finished our walk we went out to dinner at Mint, the Indian restaurant. We had coupons for 20% off and chose to have separate bills to get the most out of it. The waiter initially had it together and we had to ask him to do it separate. It was a little embarrassing but worth the $5 or more we saved, because that meant we could go to King Street and get ice cream for dessert, which is exactly what we did, after stopping by Goodwill.
We got ice cream and free parking since it was after 8pm, and we enjoyed a long walk around the ASU campus and took some pictures.
Overall it was a really wonderful time, we talked a lot and had a great time, and it was our first time ever going out to dinner together. 6 years has flown by!
