I thought I'd make a post touching on some of the events/randomness that make up my day-to-day life. Sometimes it is frustration and tears, and sometimes it is a little glimpse of hope and joy...
We came home one day to goats on the front porch! This, and the fact that
the neighbors’ roosters crow almost non-stop, are the sights and sounds of home.
“Dolls for the daughters and bikes for the boys.” I wish. The boys opted to
be in the picture anyway, even though I didn’t have anything for them. These
are some of my adopted grandmother’s grandkids, so I guess that makes us
cousins!
This lady has a very bad chronic ulcer on her ankle. I go with Sarah pretty
often to help change her bandage. Healing is a long process, and I hate to see
her in so much pain, but we are praying with her every day that her leg will
heal.
The beautiful flowers of Africa! These ones especially bring back
memories of Tanzania.
A quick stop by Pediatrics and lots of laughter as the moms and I attempted
to talk with each other. Here I am with a very special baby (and some of you
will know why!)
A typical village scene an just an hour before dark. No dawn or dusk on the
equator. Sarah and I are making the rounds again. The kids are always curious about the white people.
My humble abode: complete with a mosquito net.
Violin lessons are coming along well! Cherissa is a fast learner and has
almost got all the variations to Twinkle down already. Tuesday mornings are a
fun break to the heat and numerous duties of life in general.
Raphaella and Marianne are having fun helping mom with the washing. I spent
the morning scrubbing mildew off white walls while they did the laundry out
back. We made a great team getting the guest house ready for visitors, and I
even got the walls to turn from black to white again!
