Yesterday we had special visitors at P.C.H.! Two WMM doctors and Roy Graham spent the day with us here, as well as the MAF pilot who flew them up here. (He works out of Kinshaasa). One of the physicians was from Ireland, and has spent over twenty years working in Central Africa. The other one was from Boone!
We had a feast for lunch with the visitors and the whole team. Thanks to Delphine and Lidi there was a wide variety of good food. It was a real treat to sit and have lunch with TWO people from my home town (as far away as I am from home, too!), let alone the fact that one of them was the grandson of Billy Graham. Fancy meeting him HERE, of all places!
Several of us went to see them off at the Impfondo airport this morning. Since today is a government holiday, the small 9Q-CMR plane was the only one flying that day, and the airport was completely empty except for us and a few security guards. We said our goodbyes and thank yous and the four men squeezed into the tiny airplane, along with their luggage and letters from us to send home.
It was a short visit, but I think everyone was refreshed. SP has done a lot to help keep this hospital going and we are very thankful for them!
