This weekend we celebrate Pentacost. Tomorrow, which is Monday, is a national holiday in Congo. I think it’s appropriate for it to be a holiday similar to Christmas and Easter.
These three church holidays each remind us of an aspect of God.
Christmas shows us the love of the Father - sending His son to be born as a human on our ruined earth.
Easter shows us the love of the Son - giving up His very life for us and rising again.
Pentacost shows us God’s love through the Holy Spirit - dwelling in us and changing our lives.
Father, Son and Holy Spirit; the Trinity.
So each of these days is a celebration of what God has done for us, and is doing in us.
“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

You are so right. We do not celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit here in the States. What a shame. I love getting caught up on your posts.
