I'm sort of starting over with the garden. Last time I planted in the rainy season and I think the seeds must have just rotted in the ground, except the cucumbers which did well. Now I have planted again, this time in the "dry" season, when it only rains once or twice a week.
I think this is a better idea and I'm hoping that more than just the cucumbers will produce. So far I've planted beans, tomatoes, squash, spinach, carrots and of course more cucumbers.
So far things have been coming up nicely. I have to water the garden every other day or so, but it's so close to my house so it's not a problem.
My neighbors are also working on clearing a section of land behind our houses for their garden:
Before it was just a tangle of jungle but it looks a lot different now
