May I find His joy even in my sorrow and His life in my death. To God be the glory!

Spent a long night in Salle de Urgence this weekend. We have a lady in who's just barely hanging in there. She delivered a stillborn baby and went into septic shock. We've seen a little improvement, but not much. Urbain, the emergency nurse, wanted me to stay the night so he could understand the doctor's orders and readily talk to them. Esther and Tim, (the British doctors) who have been working hard to stabilize her, each took a shift with her through the night. I managed to lay down for a few minutes, and dozed off a little bit, but it was extremely hot. I guess Urbain thought I was cold because he covered me with a jacket. A few minutes later I half woke up feeling very sweaty because I realized Esther was talking to Urbain, and explained to him what she had just said about the patient. If I can speak Lingala at all when I'm half asleep, I guess that's a good sign. This lady is still in Salle de Urgence and we'd all appreciate prayers for her and her family. She's twenty-two, just like me, but this was her third child and her husband is out of town on a trip right now.
