...was a success! The first time we added the sugar to the egg whites too soon, and then used the yolks before realizing that the recipe called for them. Laura was busy working on the meringue, and I happened to pause from my French-toast making and look at the recipe. Twas then that I realized the yolks were needed for the filling. Too late. Guylvi was already eating the French toast made from the yolks, the remainders of which were now covering bread and sizzling away on the frying pan.
We made two pies, which turned out beautifully. Serge came over to deal
with our fridge, and took a turn with the beaters while he was at it. We took
one pie in to the hospital and they had some for lunch. The other one was
happily consumed at a girl party last night with Sylvie, Sarah, Yvonne, Judy,
Isteria, Laura and myself, in our living room.
