In Which I Have My Hair Done and Name A Baby

Today I visited the Pediatrics ward and had a great time hanging out with the kids and their moms. One of the girls really wanted to braid my hair, so I let her. It was a very painful process and I lost a lot of hair, but I made a lot of friends. It was pretty uncomfortable so after I left there I took it out.
The sixteen-year-old mom who had her baby a little over a week ago still hadn't thought of a name for him, so she told me I should name him. I wasn't so sure about this, but she insisted, so I named him Josiah. (It just happens to be one of my favorite boy names). I felt very honored that she let me name him.
So I sat there on the bed holding Josiah and getting Lingala lessons from everybody else in the room all at once. Of course it's almost always hot, so we sat in there sweating and laughing and talking and trying to understand each other.
